Real Life Reform

Are you struggling to cope with the effects of the Government’s Welfare Reforms? Do you feel like no one is listening? This is your chance to be heard.

We are looking for volunteers to take part in a project called ‘Real Life Reform’. This is a project which a number of housing associations in the North are taking part in to measure the impact of the Welfare Reform, not only on your money but also on your health and wellbeing and your neighbourhood and community.

This project has the following aims:

  • Raise awareness: Among Unity staff and also externally, possibly with MPs and policy-makers.

  • Understand impact on tenants: Focus on the human impact and understand the financial implications on people’s choices, behaviours and attitudes.
  • Monitor and measure changes: Regular interviews with you will allow us to track the impact of benefit changes over time.
  • Influencing and lobbying: Facts and figures supported by the real-life stories we will get from the project may help influence the Government and other decision-makers with regard to future changes to the welfare system.

If you would like to speak about your experiences or would like some more information please contact Lewis. on 0113 200 7751 or click here to email.
