Supporting BME Communities while building sustainable neighbourhoods. The fundamental goal of “Unity Homes and Enterprise” is to provide choice, while improving life opportunities and addressing inequalities.

We are a modern, successful and visionary organisation that understands and represents the needs of tenants of all ethnic backgrounds.  Unity was formed in 1987 with the aim of building a strong BME community housing association to meet the housing needs of black and minority ethnic communities throughout Leeds. Nearly four decades have since passed and Unity continues to deliver a range of housing and regeneration services.

Our initial focus was on the Chapeltown area, we have since spread into neighbouring Harehills, across the city to Beeston and then into most of the other inner city areas of Leeds. We have also expanded our property base to include Kirklees.

Our Social Purpose

We will fight inequality and empower BME people to improve their lives by creating opportunities and helping to regenerate communities.

Our Values

Our Values set out the way we approach our work and help people understand exactly what Unity stands for. The Values were co-created between colleagues and the board.
