Unity is recruiting for a new Enterprise Chair/Unity Housing Board Member
Now is an exciting time to join Unity. We recruited a new Chief Executive in the past year following the departure of our long-standing Chief Executive, Ali Akbor, who was appointed to the Grenfell Fire Inquiry Panel. We also have a new Corporate Plan that sets out our strategic vision for the next 5 years. The Chair of Unity Enterprise is a key role in our governance structure. You will also be a member of the Unity Housing Association board which is the parent of the Group. We are looking for a person who shares our passion and drive to help people create a better future for themselves and their communities. Your background does not have to be in housing or in workspace management, but you should have experience in management and oversight of a successful business with a strong customer and social focus. Ideally, you will have some previous non-executive board level experience, but this is not essential as we will select candidates who demonstrate a commitment to our purposes and who have the skills to add value to our work. Your ability to demonstrate that you share our absolute passion for what we do and are committed to our social purpose is every bit as important as your skill set. We are committed to having a diverse board and are particularly interested in attracting more women and black board members.
These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to shape and support Unity Homes and Enterprise’s vital work and make a real difference to the lives of people in our local community. If you are as excited about our future as we are and want to be part of a highly committed and supportive board, then we look forward to hearing from you.
