Unity Housing Association secures £7million loan to build a further 150 affordable homes in Leeds

Unity Housing Association has been provided with funding from The Co-operative Bank to increase its housing stock from 1100 to 1250 over the next five years.

We have been serving the community since 1987, our mission is to address the housing needs of local communities. Today, we are the leading housing association in Leeds, building strong sustainable communities through delivery of high quality housing, and creation of social and employment opportunities.

The transaction was arranged by Senior Corporate Manager Steven Clarke from The Co-operative Bank’s Corporate Banking Centre in Leeds.

Ali Akbor, Chief Executive of Unity Housing Association, said: “This funding will now allow us to provide more affordable high quality homes to people across Leeds and help us fulfil our aim to build more sustainable local communities.
“We would like to thank The Co-operative Bank for this support. It has shown throughout that it is totally dedicated to making our plans a success.”

Steven Clarke added: “We are delighted to be supporting Unity Housing Association with these ambitious plans and the important work it carries out to improve the lives of people in Leeds.
