Gas checks during the coronavirus lockdown

Following the Government’s announcement instructing people to stay at home we have recently received some clarification about undertaking gas safety checks during the lock down period. We have reviewed this and amended our work process accordingly.

Gas Safety Checks & Servicing.
We are continuing with our programme of gas safety checks and servicing wherever possible. This is to ensure that your gas appliance are safe for you to use. Our contractor’s engineers will use appropriate personal protective equipment and advise you how to remain safe in your home while they undertake this work.
It is very important that you provide access for these safety checks if requested. These safety checks are one of the most important checks that your home needs.

If you have been advised by the government that you should be self –isolating because you fall into the extremely vulnerable category of persons in respect of coronavirus or that you should be self-isolating because you are infected or have been in contact with a person infected with coronavirus, you should inform us that you are self-isolating and do not want a gas engineer in your home.
In such instances we will rearrange the landlord`s gas safety check to take place after your isolation period has ended.
However if you have any concerns about the safety of your appliances, you should call our customer services team on 0113 200 7700 between 9am and 5pm or our gas contractor IDM on 0113 200 7700 between 5pm and 9am.

if you are a vulnerable person and require additional support please see our support page for more information on where you can get help and advice Unitysupportpage
