A sensory experience for the Mayor of Leeds
Mayor of Leeds attends Yorkshire Sensory Experience at Unity
The Mayor of Leeds was one of the special guests invited to the opening ceremony of Yorkshire Sensory Experience’s four sensory rooms at Unity Business Centre.
YSE originally designed these sensational rooms for those in need of care in the community but they are now accessible to anyone. The rooms appeal to all of the senses and feature music, coloured lights, moving images and tactile surfaces, as well as a whole host of other stimulants.
The rooms are used by a wide range of people, including young children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Similar facilities are exist in just two other locations in the UK.
The opening ceremony attracted a wide range of people including members of the local community. People of all ages could be seen helping to make a banner to signify the launch of the rooms. The Mayor attended, as well as a number of Unity’s staff to honour the hard work that had gone into making these rooms a success.
Unity believes that this is a thoroughly worthy cause and the rooms are well-worth a visit. More information about Yorkshire Sensory Experience can be found on their website
