Types of Repair
Unity sets timescales priorities for types of repairs:
- Emergency – Defects which pose a danger to health, safety and properties. Emergency repair jobs will be completed within 24 hours. We aim to complete 99% of these repairs within our priority timescale
- Urgent – Defects which seriously affect your comfort and convenience. Urgent repair jobs will be completed within 3 days. We aim to complete 99% of these repairs within our priority timescale
- Routine – Defects which cause minor inconveniences. Routine repair jobs will be completed within 21 days . We aim to complete 99% of these repairs within our priority timescale
- Non-routine repairs – Defects considered to be discretionary or minor repair works. We will agree a timescale with you as to when these will be completed.
All contractors are approved by Unity’s Board. Unity constantly monitors the performance of our contractors against these timescales. We also pre and post inspect a certain number of repairs and tenants are issued with satisfaction slips to return to us. These measures are put in place to ensure we are delivering the best possible service to you.
Planned & Cyclical Maintenance
Unity has a planned and cyclical maintenance programme which is reviewed annually
The programme will not simply reflect the Stock Condition Survey but will also be guided by formal and informal inspections by technical and housing management staff, and where appropriate will reflect the views of our tenants.
