Phil is now retired after a career as an accountant and senior director in a number of local authorities. Although a Lancastrian by birth he worked mostly in Yorkshire, in Wakefield, Sheffield, Calderdale and Kirklees as well as in South Northamptonshire.
Married, with three grown up children he has had a number of non – executive roles. He has been on the Board of South Yorkshire Housing Association before coming to the end of his nine year term this year. He was also SYHA’s Audit and Assurance Chair.
Phil has been an Academy Trustee and is also currently on the Finance and Audit Committee of the Shakers Community Society, the Community Benefit Society encompassing the “phoenix club”, Bury AFC.
